Rob Cooper Condemns Hate, Racism and Intimidation in Hamilton

Mayoral candidate Rob Cooper has issued a statement condemning racism, religious hatred and intimidation in Hamilton, reaffirming his commitment to ensuring every resident feels safe, respected and included.

Cooper emphasized the importance of bringing communities together and pledged to work with community leaders, organizations and police to confront hate, strengthen community safety and build a city where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Although CHCH received Cooper’s statement the same day as their request, its subsequent coverage featured responses from other mayoral candidates but did not include his.

For transparency, we are publishing Rob Cooper’s full statement below so Hamilton residents can read his position directly.

There is absolutely no place in Hamilton for racism, religious hatred, or discrimination.

Every resident deserves to feel safe, respected and included, regardless of their race, religion or background, and be able to participate in our democracy and serve their community.

As Mayor, I will work with community leaders, organizations and police to confront hate, strengthen community safety and ensure everyone feels protected and heard.

Hamilton is a diverse city. We must stand together against hatred and intimidation and build a city where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

SIGN YOUR NAME FOR LOWER TAXES

End Tax Increases Photo.

According to the Hamilton Spectator, Hamilton’s property taxes are the HIGHEST of 25 municipalities in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

I’m running to end tax increases exceeding inflation so you can keep more of your hard-earned money for you and your loved ones.

Hamilton cannot afford to repeat the last four years. Sign your name if I can count on your vote for my common-sense plan.
