As Mayor, one of my top priorities will be to end tax increases exceeding inflation — while making sure residents receive better value and better service from City Hall.

Step 1: Accountability
Increase Transparency
We’ll produce monthly financial statements, complete our audited financial statements on time, and publicly report whether City services are actually meeting clear performance standards.
Step 2: Modernizing City Hall
Improve Processes
We’ll leverage technology, streamline outdated processes, and empower our staff to solve problems faster and deliver better service to residents.
We’ll work to change the culture at City Hall from one that too often creates barriers to one that helps people solve problems and get things done.
Step 3: Making Every Tax Dollar Work Harder
Focus on Core Municipal Services
We’ll reform procurement to focus on value, quality and life-cycle costs, benchmark Hamilton against other municipalities, and build budgets around results — not simply what was spent last year.
We’ll eliminate wasteful spending and end the proposed Rain Tax / Food Tax.
Hamilton can deliver better services without asking taxpayers for more and more every year.
